Elementary School Principal (Grades 3-6)

The Eastport-South Manor Central School District, nestled in the scenic landscape of Eastern Long Island, is seeking a dynamic and visionary educational leader to serve as Eastport Elementary School Principal for grades 3-6.  Eastport Elementary School is a proud recipient of the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Elementary Schools. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement instructional initiatives that support student academic and social and emotional growth.

  • Serve as lead learner that maintains an active presence in all building staff development. 

  • Seeks innovative ways to implement instructional best practices and share relevant research with faculty and staff.

  • Empower staff to find their own leadership voice to support students. 

  • Create an environment among faculty to share instructional best practices with one another in a collegial environment. 

  • Maintain an active voice in promoting and marketing all facets of the school. 

  • Design and support celebrations of student and staff success throughout the year. 

  • Model the use of instructional technology and Artificial Intelligence for the staff  to enhance learning. 

  • Demonstrate a relentless focus of evidence when examining data to support school improvement. 

  • Facilitate the creation and execution of goals that promote learning and teaching using the 4DX model.

  • Collaborate with academic directors on curriculum initiatives, innovations, and professional development. 

  • Organize and schedule instructional and non-instructional programs and activities. 

  • Facilitate Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and the ability to implement data-driven interventions to support student success. 

  • Coordinate and implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) for students.
