Description: The Eastport-South Manor School District is looking for a Certified NYS Teacher of Speech and Language Disabilities or Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped. The selected candidate must be able to support our elementary school students.

Requirements: Valid NYS License in Speech-Language Pathology. (ASHA CCC-SLP preferred, but open to all strong candidates.) Experienced at servicing all learners; developing high quality IEPs, progress reports & complete speech/language evaluations for K-6 graders; work closely with classroom teachers, classroom aides and other service providers; participate in developing MTSS plans to meet students’ needs

School Psychologist (Probationary)

School Psychologist (Probationary)

Description: The Eastport-South Manor School District is looking for a certified School Psychologist. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • NYS Certified School Psychologist; 
  • Knowledge of NYSED Part 200, 201 and Federal IDEA regulations;
  • Conduct psychological assessments, write psychological reports, interpret results for students/parents, write IEPs, participate in CSE/team meetings, and Multi-Tier Support System Meetings
  • Provide individual and group therapy per IEP requirements.
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts and develop functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
  • Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate.
  • Assist staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students.
  • Contribute to district SEL program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving skills in the classroom.
  • Provide support services and community resources to caregivers as needed.
  • Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
  • Collaborate with the related services team and school principal to provide appropriate services and make recommendations as necessary.

School Social Worker (Probationary)

School Social Worker (Probationary)

Description: The Eastport-South Manor School District is looking for a certified School Social Worker (LMSW or LCSW) to provide individual and group counseling for students to support their social, emotional and behavioral needs that interfere with their ability to be successful in school. In addition, The LMSW or LCSW will be responsible to: 

  • Provide individual and/or group counseling services to students with specific school-based counseling needs to improve their educational adjustment;
  • Complete social history evaluations and updates as needed;
  • Provide family education and training services;
  • Mobilize family, school, and community resources to support each child in their educational program;
  • Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies and implement behavioral intervention programs and tiered supports for students;
  • Provide crisis intervention;
  • Develop intervention strategies to increase academic success;
  • Assist students in understanding themselves, others, and respecting a diverse and inclusive school community;
  • Engage parents in support of their children’s school adjustment;
  • Assist parents in accessing community resources, programs and supports for students with special needs;
  • Collaborate with school personnel in developing and implementing effective social and behavioral interventions for students;
  • Participate in meetings of the Committee on Special Education (CSE), Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), and in the determination of eligibility and recommendations for services for individuals with educational disabilities;
  • Consult and collaborate with social services, mental health agencies and other community providers. Participates in the professional community by communicating regularly with administration and staff, assisting with problem-solving around student issues, and maintaining appropriate training and professional development.
  • Push-in SEL classroom lessons

 

Requirements: Candidates must possess New York State Certification as a School Social Worker AND hold Professional Licensure as LMSW or LCSW.

Permanent Substitute Teacher (Secondary)

Permanent Substitute Teachers are needed in the Junior-Senior High School. Monday-Friday, $175.00 Per Day.  Applicants must be NYS certified.
