Description: The Eastport-South Manor School District is seeking a dynamic, dually certified Biology/Chemistry teacher who inspires curiosity, motivates students, and fosters a love of learning. The ideal candidate is collaborative, innovative, and committed to student success.

 

Requirements:

  • Valid NYSED Certifications in Biology and Chemistry (Grades 7–12)
  • Strong understanding of New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) for Biology and Chemistry
  • Experience designing and implementing lessons aligned to NYSSLS
  • Skilled in laboratory instruction, safety procedures, and chemical storage protocols
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Familiarity with web-based tools to enhance learning
  • Ability to ask and model high-level depth-of-knowledge questions
  • Interest or experience in Science Research
  • Effective communicator with students, colleagues, and the school community
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm for inspiring scientific curiosity

Mathematics Teacher – Leave Replacement

Description: Our District is looking for a secondary math leave replacement starting this spring. We are seeking a candidate who balances deep content expertise with a passion for fostering mathematical curiosity, critical thinking, and measurable academic growth in every student. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction that emphasizes problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Utilize effective instructional practices to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Collaborate with the math department to align curriculum and share best practices.
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.

 

Requirements: A valid NYS teaching certification in Mathematics 7-12, and strong content knowledge across the secondary math curriculum, including calculus.
